The children thought they would relish Paani Puri, but fate had it otherwise. No sooner had they gulped down Paani Puri than many of them complained of stomach ache and nausea. The parents of those children began to rush them to the district hospital, but the Paani Puri seller ran away from the site after the incident.
As the parents were busy sending the children to hospital and chaos prevailed in the area, they could not inform the police about the incident. And, by the time, police came to know of it, the fair was over. According to some locals, the children began to complain of stomach ache and nausea just after consuming Paani Puri; and they were rushed to the district hospital.
The police said that they began to search for the Paani Puri seller, as the children had consumed the stuff from one stall, though there were many. Most of the children have been discharged from the hospital after preliminary treatment and no casualty has so far been reported. Those who are still under treatment are out of danger, the police further said.
