New Delhi: Sky-rocketing milk prices are set to take the fat off your wallet. Both Amul and Mother Dairy have raised the milk prices by Rs 2 from Wednesday, sources said on Tuesday. An official statement of Mother Dairy said that they were compelled to increase its liquid milk prices by Rs 2 a litre, which will be applicable to all milk variants.

Mother Dairy passes around 75-80% of the sales realisation from milk towares the procurement of milk. Earlier in the day, Amul, too, decided to raise the milk prices by Rs 2 a litre. The price of Amul gold in Ahmedabad and Saurashtra markets will be Rs 31 per 500 ml, Amul Taaza will be Rs 25 per 500 ml and Amul Shakti will be at Rs 28 per 500ml, the statement said.
