Rohit Sharma not named in Alex Carrie’s joint T20 XI

Australian wicket-keeper batsman Alex Carry selected the Indo-Australian joint T20 XI during the break from cricket due to the Corona virus crisis.

Carrie, who has played 36 ODIs and 28 T20s for Australia so far, opted for the XI IPL franchise Delhi Capitals during a live session on Instagram.

The special thing is that Carrie chose Shikhar Dhawan with David Warner for the opening in place of Rohit Sharma in his team.

Rohit has been the pivot of Team India’s batting during the last few years, especially in limited overs cricket. In 108 T20 Internationals he has scored 2273 runs at a strike rate of 137.78. Rohit is the only batsman in the world to score four centuries in T20 International cricket.

Carrie placed Steve Smith at number three in this team while at number four he chose Virat Kohli.

At the same time, Dhawan has scored 5688 runs in 61 T20 International matches with the help of 10 half-centuries. Kohli has scored 2794 runs in 82 T20 International matches with the help of 24 half-centuries.

Carrie selected himself and wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant in the middle order in this team. Carrie himself has scored 173 runs in 28 T20 Internationals while Pant has scored 410 runs in the same number of T20 Internationals.

Ravindra Jadeja was chosen as the only all-rounder in this team, while Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Jasprit Bumrah were selected to handle the fast bowling attack.

Australian bowler Adam Jampa has been selected by Carrie as the only spinner in this T20 XI.

Alex Carrie’s India-Australia joint T20 XI: Shikhar Dhawan, David Warner, Steve Smith, Virat Kohli, Alex Carrie, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Jasprit Bumrah, Adam Jampa.
