Mumbai: Chris Morris produced a timely 36-run unbeaten knock as Rajasthan Royals defeated Delhi Capitals by three wickets in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match here on Thursday.

After a fine performance by the bowlers led by Jaydev Unadkat, Rajasthan Royals recovered from the stormy innings of David Miller and Chris Maurice to beat the Delhi Capitals by three wickets here on Thursday to register their first win in the current season of the Indian Premier League. Despite the half-century of skipper Rishabh Pant (51) in front of the sharp bowling of Unadkat (three wickets for 15 runs) and Mustafizur Rahman (two wickets for 29 runs), the Delhi team could only manage 147 runs for eight wickets.

The Royals got off to a poor start and the team lost four wickets for 36 runs in the eighth over. Manan Vohra (09) hit Chris Woakes for two consecutive fours in the third over but caught Rabada at mid-on off this fast bowler’s next ball. Vox also caught the second opener Jos Buttler (02) after one ball at the hands of wicketkeeper Pant. Captain Sanju Samson (04) opened the account with a four off Kagiso Rabada’s first ball but caught Shikhar Dhawan in the slip on the third ball.

Jaydev Unadkat took three wickets upfront to rattle DC after RR elected to bowl. DC skipper Rishabh Pant scored 51.

South African batsman David Miller produced a combative knock of 62 runs in Royals” chase while Chris Morris scored 36 to take the side over the line.
