Imphal: National Sports University (NSU), Manipur with technical assistance provided by Physical Foundation of India (PEFI) organized a national webinar on ‘India’s Journey and Hope in Tokyo Olympics 2021’ on Saturday. In this webinar, Padma Bhushan and Dronacharya awardee Pullela Gopichand was the chief guest of the webinar.
Gopichand expressed hope that this Olympics will be a memorable one for India and the athletes will return with a large number of medals. He also stressed on the importance of improving grassroots coaching and training for aspiring athletes to become one of the top medal winning countries.
In this webinar, athlete, sports scientist, administrator, 1980 Olympic gold medalist Indian hockey team captain V. Bhaskaran, World Championship medalist and former Olympian long jumper Anju Bobby George, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna awardee N. Kunjarani Devi and Dr. Lim Boon Hoo, Vice President, National Coaching Academy, Malaysia also shared their views.
