NewDelhi: Delhi Jahangirpuri Violence– In yesterday’s procession violence on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri, Delhi police have so far arrested 14 people in connection with the violence that broke out after stone pelting on the procession on Saturday. In the 14 accused, there was Ansar, who incited the violence and Aslam, who opened fire, have been identified after a detailed investigation of CCTV footage and visuals. All the accused are residents of Jahangirpuri.
Police is trying to identify the rest of the accused with the help of video, CCTV footage and informers. Giving information about this on Sunday, police officials said that on Saturday evening, stone-pelting took place between people of two communities and some vehicles were set ablaze. A total of nine people were injured, including a Delhi Police sub-inspector who was shot in the violence.
(IPC) sections 307 (attempt to murder), 120B (criminal conspiracy), 147 (rioting) and related sections of the Arms Act and the FIR was registered.

According to the DCP, a total of nine people have been injured in the violence, including eight policemen and a civilian. The Deputy Commissioner of Police said that a sub-inspector sustained bullet injuries but now his condition is stable.

The situation is normal in the Jahangirpuri area now, after a large number of police forces and Rapid Action Force are deployed to monitor the situation.
Violence accused was identified with the help of drones and face-recognition software (facial recognition technology) is being taken to identify those involved in spreading police chaos. Apart from this, CCTV cameras installed in and around the spot and the footage recorded in mobile phones are being scrutinized.
Delhi police have beefed up the security to avoid any untoward incident in all the remaining 14 police districts of the capital and surveillance is being done through technology.
