Dale Steyn, a South African speed icon, announced his retirement from all forms of cricket today. He played in 93 Tests (439 wickets), 125 One-Day Internationals (196 wickets), and 47 Twenty20 Internationals (64 wickets). Steyn has previously announced his retirement from Test cricket in August 2019 to extend his career following a series of ailments.
Steyn made his One-Day International debut for Africa XI against Asia XI in Centurion in 2005. In 2013, he had his best statistics of 6 for 39 against Pakistan in Port Elizabeth, as the pacer tormented batters in both Tests and limited-overs cricket. Steyn made his T20I debut against New Zealand in 2007, and he followed up with a career-best 3-0-9-4 against West Indies in his second game. In 2019, he played his last ODI against Sri Lanka, while the T20I against Australia was his final international match in February of the previous year.

Steyn made his international debut against England in Port Elizabeth in 2004 and retired from Test cricket in August 2019. He took 439 wickets for an average of 22.95 in 93 Tests. In Tests, his most significant performance was against India in Nagpur in 2010, when he took 7-51.
Steyn collected 196 wickets in 125 ODIs after making his debut in 2005, with an average of 25.95 and an economy rate of 4.87. He also represented South Africa in 47 Twenty20 Internationals, taking 64 wickets. Steyn was a crucial player in several memorable successes, including two-Test series victories in England and Australia and two drawn series in India. In February 2020, he made his final appearance for South Africa in a T20I against Australia in Johannesburg.
