For some time now, Congress-acting president and leading Patidar leader Hardik Patel has been unhappy with the party’s leadership. After meeting the high command in Delhi, he said goodbye to the Congress and signaled to join the BJP. He made it clear that he was impressed with the leadership of the BJP and its organizational strength and that the BJP leadership has the ability to make decisions. He hails decisions like the abrogation of Article -370 and the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya as nationalist decisions.

As he has been saying over the past few days, Hardik Patel reiterated that he is miffed at the state Congress leadership and not with any specific leader. “There are several leaders and it is obvious that decisions are not taken promptly as required. We as the party have also failed in effectively communicating the aspirations of the people,” he said.
Earlier this month, the Top Court provided relief to Hardik by staying his conviction in a 2015 rioting case, which will allow him to contest the 2022 Gujarat assembly election.
Hardik had shot to fame in 2015 when he spearheaded the Patidar reservation agitation in the regime of the then CM Anandiben Patel who has to leave her post due to the agitation.
