A final message sent by 31-year-old Twisha Sharma to her friend before her death has become a major focus in the investigation into her mysterious death in Bhopal.
“I am trapped, bro… just don’t get trapped yourself,” Twisha wrote to her friend on Instagram shortly before she was found dead at her home on May 12.
Twisha, who was two months pregnant, was found hanging at her marital home in the Katara Hills area of Bhopal. Her family has alleged foul play and accused her husband and in-laws of mental and physical harassment.
The family has also refused to perform her last rites and is demanding a fresh post-mortem examination at All India Institute of Medical Sciences Delhi (AIIMS Delhi).
On Sunday, Twisha’s family protested outside the residence of Mohan Yadav, demanding a fair investigation. They said they have lost faith in the current probe.
Twisha’s father, Navnidhi Sharma, claimed there were serious lapses in the investigation. He alleged that the FIR was filed two days after her death and that no arrests had been made yet.
The family also questioned the first post-mortem report and claimed Twisha’s body had injury marks on her hands and ears, raising suspicion of murder.
Twisha was from Noida and had married Bhopal-based lawyer Samarth Singh in December 2025 after meeting him through a dating app.
Police said a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to investigate allegations of dowry harassment, assault, and destruction of evidence against her husband Samarth Singh and his mother, retired judge Giribala Singh.
A local court has granted anticipatory bail to Giribala Singh, while the hearing on Samarth Singh’s bail plea is scheduled for May 18.
Police officials said efforts are being made to arrest Samarth Singh and that legal action against the bail order will also be taken.
The “I am trapped” message sent by Twisha before her death has now added another emotional and mysterious angle to the case, which continues to raise serious questions.
