Date:

News Desk – One of the men accused of attacking ex-Muslim YouTuber Saleem Wastik was killed in a police encounter in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, officials said.

According to police, the accused, identified as Zeeshan from Amroha, was injured during an exchange of fire with the police. He suffered two bullet injuries and was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he later died.

The encounter took place a few days after Wastik was seriously attacked at his home in the Loni area of Ghaziabad on February 27. Two men had entered his house in Ashok Vihar Colony and stabbed him multiple times, mainly on his neck and abdomen, before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.

After the incident, local residents gathered at the spot and informed the police. Wastik was first taken to a nearby hospital and later shifted to GTB Hospital in Delhi as his condition became critical.

Following the attack, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath directed the police to take strict action and quickly arrest those involved.

Police formed 10 special teams to track down the accused. Based on a complaint filed by Wastik’s son, Usman, an FIR was registered against seven named individuals. During the investigation, police carried out raids at multiple locations in Delhi and Ghaziabad.

Wastik is known for his YouTube content, where he shares his views and identifies himself as an ex-Muslim. He runs two YouTube channels and has appeared on several television programmes.

Some people have linked the attack to his identity and views, but police have not officially confirmed the motive yet. Investigations in the case are still ongoing.
