NationalMaha Kumbh Mela 2025 Begins with the Paush Purnima Snan

Date:

The Maha Kumbh Mela, held every 12 years in Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad), marks one of the largest spiritual gatherings in the world. Millions of devotees, saints, and pilgrims come together to take a holy dip at the meeting point of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers.

Today marks the auspicious occasion of Paush Purnima Snan, with more than 1 crore devotees taking a holy dip in the sacred waters. It is believed that bathing in these holy rivers on this day brings happiness, washes away all sins, and paves the path to spiritual liberation.

This sacred bath is also referred to as Amrit Snan, symbolizing its divine and purifying significance in Hindu tradition.

This is just the beginning, as the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 will witness more significant Shahi Snans (royal baths) scheduled during the festival.
