Walking is the best form of exercise since ancient times. Those days there were no gyms built and yet people were fit and fine. There were hardly any lifestyle diseases in the olden days because people used to walk from one place to another – like they used to travel on their feet when they had to go to school, college, office and even relatives or friends’ places. Walking used to be the most favored option than spending money on rickshaws or taxis if one has to travel at a distance ranging from 1km to 5km.
However, as times changed, people started facing a lack of time, thus making them opt for public transport to travel to near and far places. Sitting and standing made people get various health issues and thus, walking took a backseat as people just couldn’t do this simple, free activity for their joints.
Women who used to walk less developed body fat than those who walked said a study. Walking gives many health benefits like it reduces the risk of developing blood clots, lowers the risk of getting heart-related issues and obesity, etc.
Walking even reduces the risk of blood pressure and decreases the risks of getting stroke and other chronic ailments. Women who walked 30 minutes every day were fit compared to women who didn’t walk. Walking can also reduce the risk of osteoporosis and joint-related problems for post-menopausal women.

Walking helped women live longer and in a healthy way. Walking also kept people away from mood-related problems as the physical activity provided improved moods, it is like people who walked more had a better way of looking at life than people who just sit at one place for long hours and keep thinking about some of the other things.
Walking also improves breathing and reduces the risk of mental health issues like anxiety, depression because any sort of movement in the body reduces the risk of stress-related ailments and keeps the body energetic and active.
