New Delhi: The central government has approved LPG refill portability. Now LPG cylinder consumers will be able to fill cylinders from any distributors. If you have Bharat Gas cylinder then you can buy cylinder from gas distributors of Indane or HPCL. If you are not happy with the service of your existing oil marketing company, then you can take the service of distributors of other company.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has said that according to the new rule, if the customer does not like the service, he can order LPG from the distributors of other oil marketing companies at his address. At present, this scheme will be started as a pilot project in Chandigarh, Coimbatore, Gurgaon, Pune and Ranchi. After this it will be started in other states also. Under Digital LPG Portability, the customer will be able to choose the distributor according to him by logging in through the mobile app or portal. If you want, you can book cylinder refill or take advantage of other facilities.
If the customer logs into the mobile app or customer portal for the gas cylinder, he will see the complete list of delivery distributors. Here its rating based on performance will also be shown. With this, the customer will be able to pick up a distributor according to his choice and get a gas cylinder from him. This will also put pressure on the distributors to improve their performance. Kitchen gas cylinder customers can also book LPG refill through UMANG App or Bharat Bill Pay system. Customers will also get an online option for payment. You can pay through online payment company like Amazon or Paytm.
