Kolkata: The sleuths of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee in connection with the school teacher appointment scam on Saturday morning. He had to be hospitalized in the evening on the same day because he was feeling uneasy, but was reportedly stable on Sunday, sources said. After the arrest, Chatterjee was produced before a city court that remanded him to two-day ED custody.
As the minister has many health-related problems, he was to be sent to ICCU at the government-run Seth Sukhlal Karnani Memorial Hospital in Kolkata. According to late night reports, when his conditions began to improve, he was shifted to a cabin. According to doctors at the hospital, he is stable and they are keeping a watch on him.

Chatterjee ducked the ED quizzing, but after a sum of Rs 20 crore was detected from the house of his acquaintance Arpita Mukherjee, he was silent. The ED sleuths arrested him after nearly 24 hours of quizzing. According to sources, the money found in the house of Mukherjee was reportedly collected from the teachers’ job aspirants.
