Prayagraj (UP): The decomposed and unclothes body of a 35-year-old woman was found in a flat in the Ramnagar area of Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh, the police said on Friday.
The body found on Thursday has been sent for an autopsy and further investigation into the case is on, the police said.
On Thursday evening when a stench was emanating from the flat, the residents informed the police about it. The police along with a forensic team reached the flat and broke open the room. The woman whose body was found was identified as Sangeeta, the police said, adding that she was murdered ten days ago.
A private doctor owns the flat and he told the police that Sangeeta was living there as a caretaker. The doctor said that a friend had introduced the woman to him. The doctor further said that he had knowledge about the family members of Sangeeta and her native place. During the investigation, the police found a mobile phone and some other papers in the flat.
