Auraiya: An odd situation has cropped up at a Navodaya School in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh. It has happened after the students of class 7 dashed off a letter to the principal against some girls of the same class for calling some them by names like ‘Lalla (stupid), Rasgulla and Daamar (black asphalt).’

The boys, however, took offence at the nicknames and wrote to the principal of the school about it and sought an unconditional apology from the girls. The letter which has gone viral on social media also says that the girls make a lot of noise in the classroom and sing songs. Consequently, the boys cannot study peacefully. The letter which contains the name of the girl who leads her friends in bullying the boys has kicked up a debate on social media.

According to the school management, the issue has been taken care of after the intervention of parents. The girls living in hostels were also counselled, so that such a situation never occurs. As the issue was resolved, there were no complaints either from the girls or from the boys, the school management said.
