The Sangh and the BJP are opposed to giving rights to the tribal people, Rahul Gandhi said at a function in Washim district in Maharashtra where he addressed a rally on the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Birsa Munda.
Washim (Maharashtra)/Jaipur: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) attacks the constitution daily, as it is opposed to giving rights to Dalits, tribal people and the poor, said Congress MP from Wayanad Rahul Gandhi during his Bharat jodo Yatra that entered Washim district of Maharashtra’s Vidarbha region on Tuesday.
He made the statement at a function held on the occasion of the birth anniversary of freedom fighter Birsa Munda. Rahul Gandhi said the tribal people are the “original owners of the country” and they should be given all the rights. The members of the tribal community took part in the rally.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the BJP are attacking the ideals of Birsa Munda from all corners, Rahul Gandhi said.
BJP upset about support Yatra is generating: Pilot
In Jaipur, senior Congress leader and former deputy chief minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot has said Bharat Jodo Yatra is historic movement and it will benefit the Congress in future.
The Yatra will enter Rajasthan through Jhalawar in the first week of the next month. Pilot who was touring his assembly constituency in Tonk said, “The Yatra is historic and very successful. Rahul Gandhi is leaving an impact on people. The Congress supporters as well as the common man are enthusiastic about the Yatra.”
Rahul Gandhi is raising relevant issues during the Yatra, Pilot said, adding that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is upset about the huge support the Yatra is getting daily and that it will get extraordinary support in Rajasthan, too.
