Ghaziabad (UP): The crime scenario in Uttar Pradesh is becoming grim with each passing day. The latest incident, in which the son of a retired constable was beaten to death in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad district, indicates that the law-enforcing agencies have completely failed to rein in criminals.

According to reports, the son of a retired police officer, Varun, was beaten to death over a dispute over parking of vehicles. Varun was a resident of Jawali Jawali village.

In the aftermath of the dispute, the accused thrashed the victim in the middle of a road and hit him with a brick, the police said on Wednesday. A video clip of the incident, in which the man is seen lying on the road and the accused hitting him with a brick, went viral on social media. A motorist made the video clip.

As soon as the video went viral on social media, the police plunged into action. The police registered a case against the attacker after the family of Varun lodged a complaint at the police station.

According to Ghaziabad superintendent of police Gyanendra Singh, the police got a piece of information on Tuesday evening that a man hit by another person died on Loni Road under the Tila Mor police station. The police came to know that there had been a dispute between groups in front of a hotel “Ops Kitchen.” During the scuffle, 35-year-old Varun was beaten up and he died in the hospital. Five polite teams have been formed to arrest the accused.

A group of people went to the hotel to have food. Varun, too, went there with his friends. There was a dispute between the two groups over parking of vehicles. Locals rushed Varun to a hospital where he died.
