Sambhal (UP): The police arrested two persons for keeping illegal firecrackers worth Rs 10 lakh in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday, official sources said. According to reports, around 25 quintals of firecrackers and explosives were found in the house of Kamal Prakash, a resident of Kot Purvi locality under Kotwali police station area. The cost of the firecrackers was estimated at Rs 10 lakh.

According to additional superintendent Shrish Chandra, a case has been registered against Kamal Prakash and his associate Kirti Sharan. As Diwali is around the corner, the incidents of explosion because of illegal firecrackers are rising.

According to reports from Bhopal, four persons including three of a family were killed and six critically injured in an explosion that occurred in an illegal firecracker store located at Morena district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. The entire building blew up because of the explosion.

The officials suspect that the explosion may have taken place when the firecrackers were being packed. Because of such incidents, the police have become careful and are taking action against those who have illegally stored firecrackers in their houses.
