Lucknow/Kanpur: Ten youths are feared drowned in two separate incidents in Kanpur and Lucknow districts of Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday, the police said. In the first incident that took place in Lucknow, four youths went missing in the Gomti river during the immersion of the idols of Goddess Durga. In another incident, six persons, including four girls went missing in the Ganga Bilhaur in Kanpur.
According to reports from Lucknow, four youths went missing when a boat carrying them lost its balance in the Gomti river.
Four girls took a plunge into Ganga and slipped into the river in Kanpur. Two youths jumped into the river to rescue the girls, but they, too, went missing. Rescue operations began in both the places.
