The budget for the President’s office in Pakistan has been drastically cut by 60 percent for the fiscal year 2020-21. At the same time, the expenditure of the Supreme Court and Islamabad High Court has been increased. This information has been obtained from the budget document. Pakistan presented the 2020-21 budget on Friday. The details of the budget are now coming out.

According to the Dawn newspaper report, the total budget of Rashtrapati Bhavan was Rs 99.2 crores for the ending financial year, but President Arif Alvi has reduced it by 60.18 percent or Rs 59.7 crores for 2020-21. While the President has cut his personal expenses, allowances for human resources have also been reduced. The financial year in Pakistan is from 1 July to 30 June.

According to the budget document, the regular allowance and other allowances of the employees and officers of the President’s Secretariat will be Rs 19.32 crore in 2020-21, which was Rs 45.87 crore for 2019-20. Similarly, the operating expenses of Rashtrapati Bhavan have been reduced from Rs 18.04 crore to Rs 5.33 crore.
At the same time, the expenditure of the Supreme Court has been increased by about 15 percent to Rs 2.40 billion in the new budget. According to the report, the Islamabad High Court has increased the salary and allowances of its judges, other officers and employees by 33.86 percent.
