Islamabad: The provincial government of Punjab announced on Monday that it will be enforcing lockdowns in all those districts which have showed 12 per cent COVID-19 positivity rate from April 1 in an effort to curb the spread of the disease.

Announcing this Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar said that “The lockdown will continue till April 11”, adding that this will be reviewed by the cabinet committee on COVID-19 after seven days, Dawn reported.

Buzdar further stated that his government’s decision to impose lockdown will not affect the economic activities or industries. “The construction, transport, goods and industrial sectors will continue to operate in a regular manner, of course while following all standard operating procedures (SOPs),” he said.
