Why Introverts prefer Work from Home

I am an introvert. There is nothing that I am shy or ashamed of to share when I agree on the fact that I am an introvert. Although I am not an extreme introvert, still my basic personality of introversion makes me choose my career and life as per my personality traits. So, you give me a room and a laptop with a WiFi internet connection and you will see me walking inside the room for inspiration to write what comes to my mind.

How to be okay to be an introvert

Yes, I am a writer too but that is the hat that I have donned for the last 10 years so that I can make a living. I have interests in dubbing, interpreting in sign language, creating some art forms, painting, etc., which I plan to take up in the coming years once I settle down in my work in the writing field.

So when people ask me whether I don’t get bored when I write for so many hours a day just sitting in one place without having the need to interact with others, my answer is NO. I like being myself and I really enjoy my own company.

I have good friends and close relatives with whom I interact only during festivals or any major functions in our lives. Otherwise, I don’t feel lonely when I go out of my home, take a rickshaw, and travel to a nearby theatre to watch a movie of my choice. Yes, there are many fears inside me that I have been fed because of my career and life choices but eventually, I am overcoming them to build something meaningful and happening that I think is my contribution to the world.

I have been working from home for many years but it is in the last two years of coronavirus lockdown that I realized that working from home helped me to take up new courses, cut down the traveling time and even focus on important areas of my life that needed my attention. Thus, I can say that as an introvert, I have always found that working as per my choice and area of interest keeps us going than being guided by others to achieve their goals in life.
