Nagercoil (Tamil Nadu): The Bharat Jodo Yatra is an attempt to undo the damage done by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to the country, said Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader and Member of Parliament in Wayanad (Kerala). Rahul Gandhi made the statement at a press conference on at Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu on Friday when the Yatra entered its third day. He is only a participant of the Yatra, the Congress leader said.
The BJP leaders have their own opinion about the Yatra and they are welcome to have their opinions about it, but its purpose is to undo the damage the RSS and its political wing have to the country in past eight years, he said. According to him the Congress leaders are leaving the party because of pressure mounted by the ruling party which possesses means that the Congress does. The fight is not with a political party, he said, adding that it is a fight against a vision that is being forced upon the country.
Although the Yatra has nothing to do with bringing opposition parties together, it will be good if that happens, Rahul Gandhi said.
