NationalSP suspended for abusing student over phone in MP

Date:

Bhopal: The administration suspended the superintendent of police in Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh for abusing and threatening a student of polytechnic over phone on Monday, official sources said. The incident came to light when an audio clip of it went viral on social media.

As soon as Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan came to know of the incident, he asked the director general of police Sudhir Saxena to probe the case. According to reports, SP Arvind Tiwari was shifted from Jhabua and suspended.

When the audio clip was analysed, it was found that Tiwari began to abuse a student who sought his help. Chauhan said, “The SP has been suspended with immediate effect.”  He told reporters that the audio clip contained the voice of SP.

Chauhan further said that as he could not tolerate anyone hurling such abusive words at children, he suspended the officer. According to the audio clip, the student complained to Arvind Tiwari that more than 30 students had barged into the hostels of junior students of the polytechnic where he studies and beaten them up.  Therefore, the student sought security for him and other students.

Tiwari was heard saying that the students had come for studies and not for fighting and that he would take everyone into custody. As the student continued to plead with Tiwari, he abused the student concerned.
