1) Show him what are your future plans:

You may be planning to climb the ladder of success by aiming to become the CEO of your company. But your dad may not about it if you have not been yet vocal about it. So, how about taking your dad to your office and showing him where exactly you aim to see yourself in the next 5 years or 10 years, or 20 years? If you aim to be the CEO, tell him why you want that position. Tell him how you plan to make a difference in the company, in society, and in the world at large. Your dad’s happiness will reach the maximum when he hears from his son or daughter whom he raised with all that he could.

2) Take him to an orphanage or old age home:

Taking your dad to a place where needy people stay will make him understand what is the reality in today’s times. You can offer to pay for donations or old clothes or used items in such places in the presence of your dad. You can tell him how you think that apart from growing materialistically, you also aim to do good for others who are in need and help them lead good lives. These values your dad might have taught you when you were a small child to share with others and live happily. You doing such kind acts will make him feel prouder about himself and his upbringing.

3) Reconnect him with his old friends:

He may have immense memories during his school and college with his friends who might have become busy in today’s times with their own lives. You can search those names on social media and also help him connect with them over the phone or on social networks. This will help him get a new list of his old friends and rekindle the old memories with his school and collegemates.

4) Register him in senior citizens clubs or activities:

You can encourage your dad to enroll in healthy activities by enrolling his name in yoga classes or senior citizens clubs where he can stay engaged once a week. Such productive activities will improve his self-esteem and also help him live a good life as he ages and goes through the various things that come during old age.
