Meerut: Attacks on women continued in Uttar Pradesh. After a criminal shot dead a 14-year-old girl in Sambhal area on Wednesday, a headless and highly decomposed body of a woman was found in a drain in Meerut’s cantonment area on Thursday.

A few residents of the area found the body when a pack of dogs pulled it out of the drain in the morning. Immediately after that, informed the police.
Additional SP, Chandrakant Meena, said, “Prima facie it seems someone tried to cover the victim’s identity. Police have sent messages to nearby districts for any missing person report.”

Station House Officer (SHO) Lal Kurti, Atar Singh said that as the body was highly decomposed there was no clue to the murder and it was also difficult to ascertain the correct age of the deceased.
