Murmu gets warm welcome in Lucknow

Lucknow: Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Draupadi Murmu arrived at Lucknow on Friday evening when she was accorded a warm welcome, official sources said. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, two deputy chief ministers Keshav Maurya, Brajesh Pathak and other ministers were at the airport to welcome her. The workers of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) played the drums.

Mumru is scheduled to meet the MPs and the MLAs of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies at Lok Bhawan and seek their votes for the upcoming Presidential election on July 18. According to sources, the BJP hopes to get some opposition votes because of increasing division in the opposition ranks. When the opposition Presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha visited Lucknow, several legislators, Members of Parliament, including some leaders of the Samajwadi Party were absent.
