Ballia: Incidents of crime against women continued in Uttar Pradesh. A man sliced the throat of a woman in Baheri village of Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia district and surrendered, the police said on Sunday. This was the third incident of attack on a woman in the past one month. A beheaded body of a woman was found in a drain in Meerut district of the state only two days ago. Similarly, a headless body of another woman was found in Meerut in the last week of July.
The woman whose throat was slit was a relative of the attacker Dilshad whose sister was in love with a man Noor Alam whom she married last month, though her family members were opposed to it.

The cousin sister of Noor Alam, Armana, is a local politician. She slapped Dilshad following a heated exchange with her over some petty dispute a few days ago and said that she would frame him in a criminal case. Dilshad barged into the house of Armana and slit her throat. As Armana was a divorcee, she was living in Noor Alam’s house. By the time the family members could reach the spot where the attack took place to save Armana, she had died. Her body was sent for post-mortem.
