Rae Bareli (UP): A young man was set ablaze when he went to meet his girlfriend in Moosapour village under Sareni police station in Rae Bareli district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday night, police said on Thursday. According to superintendent of police Alok Priyadarshi, the police came across several leads during investigation in the case.
The youth Ankit Mishra was rushed to a hospital in a serious condition. Both the girl and Ankit are the residents of the same village. When the family members of the girl came to know that Ankit had come to meet her, they locked him in a room. They called their relatives and poured petrol on him and set her ablaze. As he began to yell for help, they drove him out of the house, saying that he had come with petrol bombs to attack them.

On seeing the pathetic sight, some locals rushed to the spot, doused the flames and rushed Ankit to a hospital. They also informed the police about the incident.
