Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government led by Yogi Adityanath is all set to give its nod for formation of a state capital region (SCR) for total development of Lucknow and its adjoining areas, official sources said on Sunday. Note on SCR has already received Adityanath’s approval. The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) may be the nodal agency to implement the project. The chief secretary will head a high-powered committee which will deal with the project. Chief secretaries and principal secretaries of other departments will be the other members of the committee.

Adityanath has asked the officials to make the proposal in such a way that the state capital and its nearby areas like Unnao, Sitapur, Rae Bareli, Barabanki, Kanpur Nagar and Kanpur Dehat may be included in the SCR.
