The law-maker has been booked for allegedly harassing the woman. According to the complaint, she is a friend of Chhotey Lal’s daughter and has been visiting his house since she was 17 years old. She claimed that the legislator’s son had called her to his residence, laced something in her drink and raped her. The woman further said Verma had made video clips of the obscene acts, threatened to kill her and assaulted her.

The complainant said Chhotey Lal’s son had married her at a temple and forced her to abort many times. In 2006, when the complainant went to Jallandhar, the legislator got his son married to another girl, but the man continued to harass her and even forced her to sign divorce papers. On the grounds of the complaint, the law-maker and his son were booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. She came to know the legislator’s son in 2003.
