Two arrested, including AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal, accused of abetting doctor to suicide

New Delhi: Amid the Corona epidemic, Delhi Police has arrested 2 people, including Aam Aadmi Party MLA Prakash Jarwal, in the case of inciting a doctor to suicide. Police said that along with Prakash, his aide Kapil Nagar was also arrested on Saturday. A non-bailable warrant was issued against both of them.

According to TOI, a Delhi court on Friday issued a non-bailable warrant against AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal for allegedly committing suicide by a doctor in Durga Vihar area of South Delhi last month. The legislator then approached the court for interim bail. A senior police official said that the Saket court has issued a non-bailable warrant against the MLA and co-accused Kapil Nagar.

On April 18, 52-year-old doctor Rajendra Singh allegedly committed suicide in his home in Durga Vihar in South Delhi and blamed Jarwal for taking that step in a ‘suicide note’. The police then registered a case of extortion and abetment to suicide against the MLA.

Prakash Jarwal represents the Deoli assembly seat. He moved a Delhi court for interim bail in the case on Friday. The court has fixed May 11 for hearing the case.
