New Delhi: As the corona virus epidemic is taking place in India, the number of corona-infected people in the country has reached near 60 thousand. This figure might have been even bigger if the testing of Corona had been on a larger scale in the country. It is also being said that more cases are coming in states where more testing is being done. If we talk about corona testing, Maharashtra is at the forefront. There have been more than 2 lakh covid-19 tests in Maharashtra, which is the highest in the country. In the last five days, the number of tests in the state has increased from 1423 to 1640 for every 10 lakh people. Bihar is the worst among the big states in terms of corona testing, where only thirty thousand covid-19 tests have been conducted so far, 63 thousand in BJP’s other governed state Madhya Pradesh, one lakh 19 thousand in UP and one lakh five thousand people in Gujarat has been tested. If we look at all the states, we find that non-BJP ruled states are far ahead in the corona test than BJP ruled states.
Maharashtra has so far conducted 2 lakh tests with the highest number of 19063 positive cases. Maharashtra tops the country in Covid-19 positive cases for every 10 lakh population. According to data received from various official sources, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has doubled the test within a day. It set a new national record by increasing the number of tests to 161007 on 8 May as compared to 80632 on Thursday.
Delhi is at the top in the country by testing 3842 out of every 10 lakh people while in Maharashtra the test figure is 1640 for every 10 lakh population. It is a matter of concern that while the graph of testing in the states is doubling, Bihar of Nitish Kumar is lagging behind. It conducted 261 tests today compared to 267 tests conducted on 5 May in every 10 lakh population. The test graph is also very low in Uttar Pradesh where 498 tests have been conducted.
