Jammu: The 56-day world-famous Amarnath Yatra is expected to begin from June 28 and conclude on August 22. Official sources said here that the decision to this effect was taken in the meeting of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board here on Saturday.
Last year, the yatra had to be canceled in view of the worldwide corona virus outbreak. The board has said that the live telecast / virtual darshan of morning and evening Aarti will continue keeping in view the religious sentiments of the people. Apart from this, the traditional rituals will continue like the last time.
Significantly, last year Amarnath Yatra had to be halted on 5 August 2019 due to the cancellation of Article 370 and 35-A effective in Jammu and Kashmir and the state was divided into two union territories.
