Corona vaccine doses mandatory for Haj pilgrimage: Haj Committee

New Delhi: A big decision has been taken regarding this year’s Haj pilgrimage amid Corona epidemic. The Haj Committee in India (HSI) has stated that no Indian Muslim will be allowed to go for an annual Hajj visit unless he has taken both doses of the Corona vaccine. HCI CEO Maqsood Ahmad Khan made the announcement late Thursday night following fresh instructions from the Saudi Ministry of Health and the Consulate General of India in Jeddah.

It has also been recommended to those who applied to take the first dose of the vaccine for Haj 2021, now they may be given a second dose before the trip. However, Khan clarified that no official talks have been held on the status of the Haj pilgrimage from the Saudi Arabian authorities so far. Khan said, if Indian Muslim communities go for Haj-2021, flights will start for them from mid-June.

The status of Haj pilgrimage in the midst of the global reintroduction of corona epidemic is not clear yet. Let me tell you that even last year, regular Haj pilgrimage could not be done due to the corona virus epidemic.
