Raipur: Collector of Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh, Ranveer Sharma has been removed from his post with immediate effect. It is the same collector who beat up a young man who had come out of medicine during lockdown. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel instructed to remove him from the post when the video of this incident went viral on social media.
CM Baghel tweeted, ‘The matter of misbehavior of a young man by Surajpur Collector Ranbir Sharma through social media has come to my notice. It is very sad and condemnable. No such act will be tolerated in Chhattisgarh at all. Collector Instructions have been given to remove Ranbir Sharma with immediate effect.”
He has written in another tweet, “No official has such behavior in government life. It is not acceptable. I am upset with this incident. I apologize to the young man and his family.”
Let us know that during the lockdown implemented in Surajpur district of Chhattisgarh’s Surguja division, the District Magistrate allegedly slapped a youth and slammed his mobile on the ground and was beaten up by the police. Even if he did not get heart, he ordered his guards to beat him with sticks. The young man’s fault was that he was going to the medical store to get medicine for his parents.

The inhumane face of the collector was revealed to the public after the video went viral. After the video of this incident went viral on social media, the District Magistrate had also apologized for his behavior, but now CM Bhupesh Baghel has taken action in this case and removed him from Surajpur.
