Moderna refuses to sell vaccine directly to states

New Delhi: America’s Covid-19 vaccine maker Moderna has turned down the Punjab government’s request to supply vaccines directly. The pharmaceutical company said that according to its policy, we will only deal with the central government. This information was given by the State Nodal Officer Vikas Garg on Sunday.

The Punjab government had recently approached all various vaccine manufacturers including Sputnik V, Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson for direct purchase of Corona virus vaccines to ensure prompt vaccination in the state.

A statement issued by the Information and Public Relations Department of Punjab said, ‘Moderna, a covid vaccine manufacturer, has refused to send the vaccine directly to the Punjab government because according to their policy, they only deal with the Indian government, not That with any state government or private parties. ‘
