Payagraj: With the arrival of monsoon, the rising water level of river Ganga in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh has posed a new challenge to the administration. He has to deal with the problem of dead bodies buried in the sand, suspecting that these ‘graves’ belong to Corona patients. As the water level is rising, the sand banks are crumbling and the bodies are floating in the water. In the video/pictures captured by local journalists on mobile at various ghats of Prayagraj in the last two days, the municipal team can be seen taking out the dead body.
In the photo taken on Wednesday, a dead body can be seen on the bank of the river. The white colored surgical gloves are also visible in the hand of this dead body coming out of the saffron-coloured shroud. The body was taken out by the team of Prayagraj Municipal Corporation. Videos from another ghat show two men taking out a shroud-covered body and placing it on the sands of the shore. Neeraj Singh, Zonal Officer of Prayagraj Municipal Corporation told the media that they have got 40 bodies cremated in the last 24 hours. He told, ‘We are getting the bodies cremated with full rituals and rituals.’
