Television is the most preferred medium across all age groups. As India has the majority of the households in low-income and middle-income categories, people like to watch TV in their free time. After office hours or college studies, when they get time would like to take the remote in their hands and enjoy the various TV channels and their diverse serials and movies.

As we have the top trends on television as saas-bahu/family dramas, reality shows, sports, comedy shows, why can’t there be serials based on educating a skill on a daily or weekly basis in the mainstream top channels. Apart from cooking and other artistic activities, there are various other skills like starting a business, opening a bank account, applying for a passport, writing a blog, managing finances, approaching a doctor when symptoms of any illness start, some concepts from the upcoming courses and existing courses, which are also important life skills in today’s changing times.

Like the more people become aware of these skills and educated, the more they will spread information with their family members and friends. Like nowadays YouTube and Google search engines are like the guides who assist us to solve any problem and learn any new skill. Some sort of series can be created to be aired on television as well based on the common problems and their probable solutions. 

Till now, television has been successful in understanding human relationships and their changing nature over a period of time. But what if we have more skill-based serials that can actually benefit society at large. This will also help those people who do not have access to digital platforms and knowledge of using a app to get their learning done. It will open up more opportunities for artists and educators too.
