New Delhi: 15 personnel posted in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) battalion in Delhi have been found infected with Covid-19. Officials gave this information on Saturday. A senior official said that the personnel belonged to the 31st battalion of CRPF whose nine personnel were found infected with Covid-19 on Thursday.
With these latest cases, the number of infected personnel in this unit has increased to 24. The official said that the patients have been isolated and have been admitted to a hospital in Mandavali here. He said samples of about 12 more personnel of the unit have been sent for examination and their investigation report is awaited.
The officer said that personnel of this unit were examined after a head constable going to the battalion last week was found to be infected with Covid-19. The head constable is employed as a nursing worker and is part of the 162nd battalion stationed at Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir.
