New Delhi: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday went into self-isolation after her husband Robert Vadra tested positive for coronavirus infection. However, she has tested negative for Covid-19.
Taking to Twitter, the Congress leader has also cancelled her campaign schedule for Assam, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. In a video message, Priyanka apologised to people and said that doctors have asked her to be in isolation, so she is following the guideline.
Assembly elections are currently being held in Assam, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry. Priyanka Gandhi has also made frequent visits to these states in recent times. On Friday, he was supposed to go for election campaigning. After going into isolation, she will no longer be able to go for publicity, releasing a video about which she has also apologized to the people.
Priyanka tweeted and wrote- I am having to cancel my Assam tour due to exposure to corona infection. My yesterday’s report has come negative but on the advice of doctors, I will be in isolation for the next few days. I apologize to all of you for this inconvenience. I pray for Congress victory.
