Sikar:As many as 21 COVID-induced deaths were reported from Rajasthan’s Sikar district after a COVID-infected dead body was allegedly buried without taking into consideration the COVID-19 protocols.
According to officials, the body was brought from Gujarat and after the last rites were performed in the village, around 21 people who came in contact with the dead body were killed. The infected body of the Covid victim was brought to the village on 21 April and more than 100 people attended the funeral which was conducted without following Covid’s guidelines.
He said that the body was taken out of a plastic bag and many people touched it during burial. However, Laxmangarh subdivisional officer Kulraj Meena said that out of 21 deaths, Covid-19 resulted in only 3-4 deaths.
