Directed by Om Raut , Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is breaking all box office records of films released in January 2020.
Starring Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Saif Ali Khan and Sharad Kelkar in important roles, the film has earned over Rs. 100-crore within a week of its release.
Based on the real story of Maratha soldier Taanaji Malusare, the film is expected to earn over Rs. 150 crore in the coming weeks.
Although the film didn’t receive great reviews from the critics, but it has been loved by the audience for its storytelling, CGI and versatile performances by its starcast.
Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone’s film Chhapaak which got released on the same day as Tanhaji movie, has been able to earn around Rs. 30 crore so far.
Chhapaak has been appreciated by critics and audience as it narrates the real-life of an acid attack survivor who tries to rebuild her life. However, the film seems to not create wonders at the box office.
