“Women in Science”: A special report on National Science Day (NSD) 2020
India is celebrating National Science Day with the theme “Women in Science” this year. The women scientists of CSIR-CDRI brought many laurels to the institute and made their impact full presence in science in the year 2019-20.
Dr. Ritu Trivedi
Principal Scientists, CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow has been conferred with TATA INNOVATION FELLOWSHIP 2019-20 and Dr. P. Sheel Memorial (Young Women Award) Lecture Award (2019) from National Academy of Sciences (NASI) for her outstanding research in the area of metabolic bone disorders specifically on osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.
Dr. Niti Kumar
Senior Scientist, CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow has received SERB Women Excellence Award-2020. Her research group is trying to understand the protein quality control machinery in human malaria parasite for exploration of alternative drug targets for malaria intervention.
Dr. Divya Singh
Principal Scientist at CSIR-CDRI have designed and developed a novel dual-acting (promotes bone formation and prevents bone resorption) compound CDRI S008-399 that leads to faster bone healing, and enhances bone mineral density. She was awarded by CSIR Best Technology Awards-2019 with the co-contributor Dr. Atul Goel.
Dr. Anuradha Dubey
INSA Senior/Emeritus Scientist & Sir JC Bose National Fellow, Division of Molecular Parasitology and Immunology, Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow honored with Kshanika Oration Award to eminent Indian women scientists by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) Government of India, for outstanding contributions in Biomedical Sciences. She has made outstanding contribution for Vaccine targets for Leishmaniasis
Dr. Renu Tripathi
Senior Principal Scientists, CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow received the Dr BN Singh Memorial Oration Award for her outstanding contributions towards research in Parasitology
Dr. Monika Sachdev
Principal Scientists, CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow received CDRI Best Technology Awards-2020 with the co-contributor Dr. T Narender for developing a nutraceutical product for the management of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH).
