New Delhi: Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar on Monday asked who had given permission for the religious organization of the Tablighi Jamaat in Nizamuddin, New Delhi. This program has emerged as a major hub of the corona virus in the country. Pawar had said in a live interaction with people on Facebook that the Maharashtra government had not allowed such an event here before. He said that earlier two big gatherings in Maharashtra – one near Mumbai and the other in Solapur district were proposed.
Pawar said that permission was already not given for the event near Mumbai while the police took strict action against the Solapur program (organizers) for violating the ongoing consultation by the state. He asked, “If Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray can take such decisions, then why was there no denial of permission for a similar program in Delhi and who gave approval for it?” The minister also expressed disappointment over the Nizamuddin program being uprooted in the media.
He said, “Why is it so important for the media to hoist it?” This inexplicably targets a community in the country. “Around 15 deaths and more than 400 cases of covid-19 in the country have been linked to the religious program at the Nizamuddin headquarters in Tabligi Jamaat last month.
