New Delhi: AIIMS has issued an order to stop registration of OPD, all new and old patients including special services from 24 March till the upcoming order.

Earlier, AIIMS had decided to temporarily suspend the regular OPD registration of patients from 23 March on the use of its resources to control the covid 19 epidemic. The new order stated that ‘it has been decided that all OPD services including registration and special services of all new and old patients at AIIMS Hospital and all centers will be closed from 24 March till further orders’.

AIIMS had on Friday decided to suspend all non-essential surgeries and treatment by issuing circulars. It was instructed that only life saving emergency surgery will be done from March 21. The Union Health Ministry has asked hospitals and medical education institutes to purchase a fair number of ventilators and high-flow oxygen masks. Along with this, it has been asked to keep the crowd at the hospital premises to a minimum.

Covid-19 infection cases have increased to 415 in the country. As of Sunday night, the number of infected people was 360. The Ministry of Health gave this information on Monday. These figures include 41 foreign nationals and seven deaths so far.
