Children and old people will not be allowed for journey, corona test compulsory

Jammu: Due to Corona, the Amarnath Yatra this time will be of 14 days. It will begin on 21 July and end on 3 August on Shravan Purnima. There are a lot of conditions for those attending.

Those below 14 years and above 55 years of age will not be allowed, while in addition to the health certificate, a corona test will have to be done and their certificate also attached. Devotees will travel through the Baltal route but do not know how many will do at present.

This information was given by an officer of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board. He said that the work of removing snow from the route to the holy cave has started. He said that it would be compulsory for passengers to have a Corona test certificate. This certificate will be checked on entering Jammu and Kashmir, but a cross-check will also be done for the virus before being allowed to start the journey. Apart from this, all pilgrims except sadhus have to register online for the yatra. How many people will be registered, is not currently decided.

It has also been decided in the board meeting that arrangements have also been made for the devotees who will be deprived of visiting this time due to Corona outbreak. The special aarti, which takes place in the morning and evening in the holy cave during the 14-day tour period, will be telecast live across the country.
