Mumbai: A resident of Aurangabad filed a petition in the Bombay High Court, alleging that his medico daughter had died because side-effects of Covishield vaccine. After that, the high court issued notices to the Serum Institute of India (SII), Pune, Microsoft Founder Bill Gates and the Centre.  The petitioner demanded Rs 1,000 crore as compensation.

The petitioner, Dilip Lunawat, argued that his 33-year-old daughter Snehal, a senior lecturer in SMBT Dental College and Hospital in Nashik, was forced to take the shot along with other health officials. The side-effects of the vaccine led to the death of his daughter on January 28 last year.
