Prayagraj. The Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP), the apex body of saints, has announced that the campaign for the liberation of Kashi and Mathura temples will be intensified once the Ayodhya issue is resolved.
ABAP President Mahant Narendra Giri said on Thursday that temples in Kashi and Mathura were demolished to build mosques. We will take up this issue and ensure that grand temples are built at these places. There are Hindu governments at the center and the state and there cannot be a better time for this.
Mahanta said that there has been a demand for liberating Kashi and Mathura for a long time. He said that we are confident that the court verdict in Ayodhya will be in favor of the Ram temple. The frustration was clearly seen in the behavior of the lawyers representing the Muslim side.
The ABAP chief asked the Muslims to give up their claims on Kashi and Mathura in the national interest. He said that Muslims should support the construction of grand temples at these two places. The Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi has been partially encroached by the Gyanvapi Mosque. The mosque was built in 1669 by Aurangzeb by destroying the original Kashi Vishwanath temple located at this place.
Hindu organizations have long been calling for the grand renovation of the existing Kashi Vishwanath temple and relocation of the mosque. Along with this, the royal Idgah adjacent to Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura has also been on the radar for a long time.
